Special awards for exceptional and distinguished service were given to various members including the church's missionaries and wives.
On Saturday evening a very special ceremony was held, that was planned months in advance (remaining unbeknownst to Pastor Tottingham) and included the entire church AND the Honorable Mayor of Sioux Falls, Dave Munson. Mayor Munson presented to our pastor for his long-time influence for righteousness in Sioux Falls and South Dakota, a proclamation designating 11 April, 2004 as "Dr. Ronald L. Tottingham Day" and presented him with the "Key To The City".
Pastor T, as he is called, was cited by the proclamation for his involvement in military and veterans affairs through the Marine Corps League, Air Force Auxiliary & Disabled American Veterans; city youth betterment through his participation in the chartering of the Young Marines program in Sioux Falls; chaplaincy with the county jail, state penitentiary & federal prison system; state legislative action and willingness to sit on various community committees. The Key to The City is a very rare honor and has been awarded only on a very limited basis in the history of Sioux Falls.
With Pastor Tottingham having already received gubernatorial honors from governors of several states, including two in South Dakota, it was a special privilege to see him honored in his own city.
EBT originated out of Bible Baptist Church, East Grand Forks, MN (now in ND), when Gordon Silcox, DD was pastor. We currently have a weekly total attendance of 240 in seven separate services.
